Klepuszewska re-visits the darkened interior, utilising three images from her award-winning series 'Living Arrangements' she creates new sections of work that explore and interweave the experience of an indoor life with ideas and memories of the outdoor.
"A passionate commitment underlies her work and this is powerfully transferred to us in her dark, emotional subjects. There is a background of social concern, yet the details arrest the viewer regardless of the original motivation. The objects shrouded in blackness, become vessels of fantasy, whispering to us of another possible existence. Complex narratives are spun around the conception of space, where we briefly lift the lid on a private interior. In that room heavy with memory, at the edge of the photograph's darkness, the interpretation of the interior is grasped in relation to the outside. The romance of landscape frequently colliding with the everyday. The homely comfort of possessions and collected, or leftover, items seem to evoke a longing for the world beyond the open window, of a past almost forgotten." Clark 2008
