My work deals with perspective, distance, movement, the experience of space and its boundaries. I work across a range of media, choosing my methods and materials relevant to my critical understanding and discourse on spatial issues.
I refer to my projects as fictional landscapes part-way between materiality and immateriality, combined with a sense of formal relationships to the surroundings - negotiations in space.
I’m drawn to the intriguing juxtapositions between the man-made and nature, here especially coastlines, harbours and seascapes.
Here I present a variety of projects - photography, wooden structures, projections.

I constantly test and research how the perception of space can be influenced or changed. Thus, I've worked away from the studio or gallery context, exploring land-and cityscapes.
The project to the right took place in September 2010 in one of the boathouses of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard as part of my exhition and residency at Art Space Portsmouth: www.aspinternationalresidency2009.blogspot.com
Currently, I'm preparing for my upcoming residency in Greenland.

Usually, I start with building models of wood, perspex and fiberglass to work out dimensions, angles, light and shadow. These are useful tools and part of my working process, leading to larger constructions.
My large scale structures are made of wood or fabric, at times in combination with projections.
I put emphasis on that my constructs can be experienced from all angles, being physically accessible as one can walk inbetween, underneath or above them. They do not convey themselves at a first glance. In order to see the whole piece one has to navigate and find a way through and around it – a physical experience of a body of work.
