Mercury Well, (Image 1, 2 and 3)3’ x 10’ x 10h / glass, mercury, aluminum, motor, chain sprocket drive / 2003. A Mechanical art work that reacts to the viewer’s presence. When activated a large glass propeller rotates behind another plane of glass. It rotates 180 degree then drops mercury through the front panel of glass triggering 4, 1000 watts of light shine for a few seconds.

Thumbelina ( Image 4, 5, 6 and & 7 ), 2’ x 5’ x 9’h / glass, aluminum, steel, motor, chain sprocket drive / 2002. Mechanical work that reacts to the viewers’ presence. When the viewer is in front of the piece it activates a jointed glass finger extending out pointing at the viewer watching. The detail view allows you to see the inserted aluminum joints embedded in the glass that allows for it is retraction and elongation of the finger.
